With immediate effect, Hydro is raising prices for the conversion of rolled aluminium products. The measure is caused by the significant rise of energy costs, affecting directly the sourcing of gas and power, moreover indirectly the transport and packaging of products. In addition, purchasing prices for alloy elements, namely magnesium, have risen further.
Consequently, the conversion prices will increase up to 15 per cent, depending on the energy and alloy content of the products.
We already explained the situation to our customers and will now review with them, what it means for them. By timely adapting prices to real costs, we execute our responsibility for a sustainable supply partnership and for an efficient management of resources,“ says Oliver Bell, President Rolled Products in Hydro.
