Germany is the largest segment of the European market for building systems and aluminium extrusions. With the acquisition, Hydro will have five extrusion facilities, three recycling facilities and a total of 2,000 employees in the country. This includes 200 technicians who are specialists in creating solutions for windows, doors and facades for the building and construction industry.
Hydro Extrusions is one of Hydro’s strategic growth areas and announced growth investments worth NOK 1.9 billion during 2022.
The transaction was announced on December 8, 2022.

Hueck is based outside of the production site in Lüdenscheid in the Nordrhein-Westfalen region in Germany and employs 500 people. It is a leading European supplier of building systems and has a 12-inch and an 8-inch extrusion press as well as a recycling operation with an annual capacity of 50,000 tonnes.
