      Hydro continues to improve scores on key ESG ratings

      Hydro is committed to applying ethical business practices and compliance throughout its organization and supply chain. In 2023, Hydro’s score improves further on several important ratings related to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).

      Leadership in health and safety, social responsibility, and compliance is an integral part of Hydro’s license to operate in over 40 countries around the world.

      Recently, Hydro was again included in the DJSI Europe index with a total score of 69, an improvement from 67 in 2022. Hydro has been included in the DJSI index series, powered by Standard & Poor Global CSA, every year since it began in 1999, making this the 25 consecutive year. The DJSI group of indices are an important tool for companies, investors and other stakeholders to assess sustainability performance.

      In addition, Hydro scores consistently among the best in its industry in important ESG ratings. In 2023, the company also improved its score on other relevant ratings, such as Morningstar’s Sustainalytics and Moody’s ESG Solutions.

      Hydro reports on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) in accordance with the GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards (GRI Standards). Hydro’s GRI Content Index 2022 can be found at hydro.com/gri, and shows Hydro’s adherence to UN Global Compact, ICMM, ASI, UN Sustainable Development Goals and UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

      GRI collaborates with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and the United Nations Global Compact, which is under the auspices of the UN’s Secretary General. Hydro has reported according to the GRI guidelines and standards since 2003.
