      Aluminium at Chillventa 2010

Hydro will be exhibiting aluminium components at Chillventa 2010 for use in air conditioning and refrigeration systems. The move from copper to aluminium is on its way as customers are discovering better performance, lower refrigerant volumes and more cost-effective solutions. Hydro is a frontrunner in material substitution in this market segment

Chillventa is an international trade fair for refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation and heat pumps. The three-day event in Nuremburg, Germany, begins October 13.

This year alone, Hydro has shown its aluminium heat transfer solutions at industry events in China, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Turkey and the United States. Chillventa will be the 10th trade fair for Hydro's HVACR teams, and their last of the year.

      New HYVAC™ packages

The company will feature its HYVAC™ packages at Chillventa. This is the name the units have chosen to help brand their anti-corrosion or limited-corrosion aluminium solutions for two kinds of heat exchangers. The focus will be on clad material and controlled atmosphere brazing.

The latter is a joining process for fin stock and manifolds that offers many advantages to systems manufacturers and their respective original equipment manufacturers. Cost is the main benefit, but not the only one. Functional advantages and easier end-of-life recycling are others.

Hydro will also use the stand to promote its dedicated service center in Hannover, which is aimed to help support clients in the transition from copper to aluminium.

The company will be present in Hall 2, Stand 215
