Hydro received the Stockman Prize for 2009 in the open class that includes all companies listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
The analysts' evaluation pointed to Hydro's annual report, other publications and presentations, and the company's ability to answer queries and handle investor relations.
In particular, the evaluation prized Hydro's equal treatment of analysts, the level of detail in the annual and quarterly reports, the quality of presentations and the company's corporate governance activities.
"A great recognition"
The prize was given to Hydro's chief financial officer, Jørgen C. Arentz Rostrup, at a ceremony in Oslo Wednesday during the group's annual seminar.
"The Stockman Prize is a great recognition and proof that our work with information for the financial markets is valued," Rostrup told the group.
He added that the prize provides motivation to continue in the thorough work by a number of people in Hydro's financial reporting organization, the investor relations department and in communication.
"Good investor relations work is characterized by high-quality relevant information at the right time," Rostrup emphasized, and added that Hydro has always focused on the need for good information among analysts and investors.
Hydro also received the Stockman Prize 1992, 1995 and 2004.
