Ebbesberg, 37, comes from a position as chief financial officer in Norwegian retail group Coop NKL. He has previously worked 11 years in Hydro between 1996 and 2007 and has extensive management experience within finance and business operations, including head of finance in Metal Products, head of the Foundry Alloys business unit and international experience from Extrusion and Building Systems.
Following the reorganization of Hydro designed to secure a more concentrated focus on operations and markets, effective March 30, Hydro will consist of the six business areas Energy, Primary Metal, Metal Markets, Rolled Products, Extruded Products and Projects.
Ebbesberg holds an MA in business economics from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH). In his new position, he will be a member of the Corporate Management Board and report to Svein Richard Brandtzæg, who takes over as Hydro President and CEO on March 30.
Ebbesberg assumes his position on March 30 or shortly after.
