Denso in the Czech Republic recently selected Hydro's precision tubing plant in Denmark as its Supplier of the Year for 2007, while Denso Corporation Japan followed up by presenting a Regional Cooperation Award to Hydro's precision tubing plant in Florida.
"These honors provide our organization with the type of feedback that we need to further develop our position as the global market leader in our field," says Salvador Biosca, who is responsible for Hydro's automotive activities. "Our relationship with Denso is long term. We appreciate the honors very much."
Hydro is the market leader in delivering extruded and rolled aluminium solutions for automotive heat exchanger solutions. The company has been supplying Denso for more than 16 years with precision tubing from various plants.
Tops in Tønder
At its annual supplier conference, held this year in Liberec, Czech Republic, Denso Manufacturing Czech selected Hydro's Tonder plant as winner of the Supplier of the Year 2007 award in the "Raw Material" category.
The Danish site supplies Denso with coated micro port extrusions that are used in the Fiat Ducato and Fiat Punto models.
Denso explained that the award was the result of a good proactive effort made by everyone involved in the work, in ensuring full satisfaction for the customer.
Rockledge chosen again
The second award was based on a nomination from Denso Manufacturing Michigan, which praised Hydro's team in Rockledge for the quality and manufacturing improvements made on all the micro tubing products produced, as well as the extruded modulator tank section.
"This is the second time in two years that the Rockledge plant has been awarded this important supplier award," says Biosca. "All employees should be extremely proud of their continuing efforts to maintain this supplier status."
Hydro, the largest aluminium company in Europe, delivers aluminium tubes found mainly in applications such as condensers and evaporators for air-conditioning systems as well as liquid lines for air conditioning, heater cores and radiators for engine cooling systems, charge air coolers and other cooling systems.
