The reason for the incident is unclear at this point and subject to investigation. Hydro is cooperating with the police to clarify the circumstances.
The 34-year old man was not a Hydro employee, but belonged to the contractor company Prien. He leaves behind a wife and two children.
Hydro's Rolled Products business sector has more than 600 employees in Hamburg, most employed in the rolling mill.
