Come on a virtual visit to our extrusion plant
Join us for a 2 minute and 30 second video visit at Hydro’s extrusion plant in Magnor, Norway, to learn how we extrude aluminium.
Aluminium profiles are made by an industrial process called extrusion. It is one of the most common methods of processing aluminium from billet to end product. In this video we will take you on a two and a half-minute plant tour of the Hydro Magnor extrusion plant and show you how we turn a billet into a beautiful extruded profile.
An aluminium profile can then be bent and formed, coated and painted, to be used in furniture or building facades – actually thousands of different end products.
Taking customers to see the production with their own eyes is an important part of getting the customer on board, sharing knowledge about our processes and building relationships. When Covid hit Hydro Magnor last year, they could no longer take customers on a plant visit. They had to think differently.
The solution was to create a video that shows the full extrusion process in less than three minutes. A video cannot replace the real-life plant visit, but it has turned out to be a great alternative when the visit cannot be conducted.
Take a look and see for yourself!
