Brazil is Hydro's main source of the important raw material bauxite and is the country where the company has the most employees.
In Brazil we extract raw materials in Paragominas and Trombetas and we refine bauxite to alumina (aluminium oxide) at the world's largest alumina refinery outside China, Alunorte.
We also produce aluminium metal at the Albras plant, which we partly own.
