- Cutting
Higher cutting speeds can be reached when cutting aluminum than when cutting steel. Cross-cutting saws adapted for aluminum can eliminate burrs without the need for additional processing. - Drilling
Drilling can be done with hand-held drills, pedestal drills, CNC machines, lathes, gantry drills and drilling stations in automated lines. Operations include drilling, countersinking and deburring. - Punching
Punching operations can include hole cutting, cutting out blanks and cutting off lengths. The method is quick and inexpensive, but the profile must be shaped to allow punching. - CNC Milling
Our aluminum CNC machining services take the guesswork out of fabricating your custom aluminum parts. Machining centers are specially designed for milling aluminum extrusions with higher efficiency rates. - Bending
Bending offers high shaping accuracy. The profile is held tightly at both ends and the tool moves to perform the shaping. Hardened metal can be bent for larger radii but smaller ones usually require soft annealed or T4 (half-hardened) metal. Bending, if required, should be done before anodizing. - Stretch forming
Stretch forming is a process in which an aluminum shape or sheet is stretched and bent simultaneously over a die in order to form large contoured parts. - Roller bending
This process is used to bend extrusions with large radii. The extrusion is rolled between three wheels, one of which is adjustable. - Press bending
Parts are shaped in a two-part tool in an eccentric or hydraulic press or other simple equipment. The process is well-suited to simpler operations in large batches. - Friction Stir Welding
Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is a technique that involves joining flush metal surfaces through the mechanical action of a rotating tool. With the effects of pressure and heat, a new, homogenous structure is achieved. Compared with melt welding, FSW provides greater strength and less heat deformation. - MIG Welding
Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding uses a consumable wire electrode and shielding gas, which is continuously fed through a welding gun. Thicker materials require more powerful equipment. - TIG Welding
Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding generates heat via an arc of electricity jumping from a tungsten metal electrode to the metal surfaces that need to be welded. It is particularly suitable for thinner materials. - Hydroforming
Hydroforming gives an extruded aluminum tube a three-dimensional shape in one single operation. When pressed onto an appropriately shaped die hydrostatic pressure applied, the profile takes on the shaped of the die. Complicated shapes can be created with very high precision.
