“It's very encouraging to see Hydro REDUXA gaining traction in yet another industry. Emmaljunga’s forward-leaning approach to material selection and sustainability is impressive and we are proud to be selected as their supplier for this product range,” says Jennie Rutgersson, Account Manager, Hydro Extrusion Sweden.
In their ongoing program to vet and select suppliers according to their "green vision," Emmaljunga selected Hydro REDUXA to further improve the sustainability aspect of their products.
Emmaljunga was founded in 1925 and is today one of the few active stroller manufacturers based in Europe. The NXT product line is made according to their "green vision," of a factory that is circular in its use of energy and material resources, which are recycled or recyclable, at their site in southern Sweden.
Hydro REDUXA has a maximum carbon footprint of 4.0 kg CO2 per 1 kg aluminium produced.
Emmaljunga’s factory is already exclusively using certified hydropower in addition to its solar panel generated energy. Its circular heating system is using the heat generated within the factory production system to warm the factory during the colder months. Emmaljunga has also engineered its own water system that cleans and reuses the water from the manufacturing process.
Another important element for Emmaljunga was the news that Hydro has certified its entire aluminium value chain, from bauxite mining to finished products, according to the standards of the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI), which is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The ASI Performance Standard defines environmental, social and governance principles and criteria, with the aim to address sustainability issues in the aluminium value chain.
Emmaljunga Barnvagnsfabrik AB, based in Sweden since 1925, is a child mobility manufacturer with a clear green vision and focus on quality and sustainability. A third-generation family-owned company exporting globally, Emmaljunga Barnvagnsfabrik AB will continue to assist families worldwide and across generations to lead an active lifestyle with safe and responsible products into the next century.
