One of the building industry’s leading trade shows, Batimat takes place from November 4-8 at Paris Nord Villepinte.
“Our brands are placing sustainable development at the center of their priorities in taking on one of the building industry’s major challenges. The commercialization of our low-carbon aluminium confirms this work,” says Egil Hogna, executive vice president responsible for Hydro’s Extruded Solutions business area.
Both of the systems brands are fully owned subsidiaries of Hydro.
Low-carbon aluminium products REDUXA 4.0 and CIRCAL 75R
TECHNAL and WICONA are making strong commitments toward the environment at each step in the aluminium production chain. This includes ASI certification of manufacturing sites as well as Cradle to Cradle labeling of their respective range of products.
At Batimat, the brands will feature modern systems built with:
- Low-carbon aluminium Hydro REDUXA 4.0
- Hydro CIRCAL 75R, which contains at least 75 percent post-consumer scrap
The brands also created their Batimat stands with the REDUXA and CIRCAL products. After the trade show, 80 percent of the exhibited systems will be re-used.
Aluminium-based innovations in sustainable buildings
TECHNAL and WICONA are also responding to Batimat’s focus on innovation by showcasing their most innovative concepts at the trade fair. Two of them have already won Batimat 2019 Innovation Awards:
- TECHNAL’s SOLEAL 2-IN-1 DOUBLE SLIDING WINDOW, which provides ventilation, acoustic insulation, and protection against insects and intrusion
- WICONA’s WICLINE 75 MAX, the first recycled aluminium window
Other innovations include an aluminium-based façade that converts wind, rain and even noise into sources of energy, and a passive anti-noise ventilation flap for windows. This reduces noise even when opened. It also incorporates a mosquito net and is an efficient barrier against mosquitos.
The adjacent stands are located in Hall 5A. TECHNAL is at Stand JO33 and WICONA at Stand JO34.
