Questions and answers for students and graduates

Hydro employee
How can I find out if there are any summer practice vacancies available?

All vacant positions will be posted under Open Positions. Summer jobs will be posted early in the year and internships will be posted in the autumn. We will only consider applications entered with the online application form.

Our summer jobs are often at our plants. You must be at least 18 years old, and the job is mainly manual labor. We provide housing in some areas.

Where can I find information about internships?

You can find more information about our Internship program here.
Internships for 2014 will be announced under Open positions and Facebook in September through November 2013.

What responsibilities do interns have?

As an intern at Hydro you can either work at a plant in Norway or abroad, or at our head office in Oslo. We value your time and the work you do for us. We give you real assignments and tasks you can grow with and the ability to learn from experienced colleagues. You work alongside other employees and are fully involved in the department you work for, and you learn more about the organization as a whole. The aim is that you get valuable experience and first-hand knowledge of what it’s like to work inside a large and dynamic company. You may find openings into Hydro after completing your education.

But if you can make a good case for why you would like to apply for an internship in Hydro and why we should award you an internship, we will still consider your application.
